Taj Irzhavsky (*1994, they/them) work as an interdisciplinary artist with video, film, collages, and performances. Their practice explores the principle of serendipity (happy coincidence) and synchronicity (a particular mental configuration and an external event coincide in time). The function of the handheld camera as a magical object is examined in this process. Their artistic impulse often arises from the desire to better understand a particular phenomenon. Taj completed their studies as a master student in the class of Prof. Rita McBride at the Art Academy Düsseldorf as well as at the School of Visual Arts in New York. They live and work in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Taj Irzhavsky (*1994, Pronomen: dey/denen) arbeitet in einem interdisziplinären Ansatz mit Video, Film, Collagen und Performances. Deren Praxis erforscht das Prinzip der Serendipität (glücklicher Zufall) und Synchronizität (eine bestimmte psychische Konstellation und ein äußeres Ereignis fallen zeitlich zusammen). Die Funktion der Handkamera als magisches Objekt wird dabei untersucht. Deren künstlerische Impuls entspringt oft dem Wunsch, ein bestimmtes Phänomen besser zu verstehen. Irzhavsky schloss deren Studium als Meisterschüler*in in der Klasse von Prof. Rita McBride an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf sowie an der School of Visual Arts in New York ab. Dey lebt und arbeitet in Düsseldorf.
